Visitor Information

Whether it's a weekend of wine tasting in the Hunter Valley Wine Region - famous for it's Semillon, Shiraz and Chardonnay wines, a romantic weekend getaway, a concert in Pokolbin or to take in one of our many local cultural events, the Broke Fordwich Wine Region and Historic Wollombi Valley offer a different view of rural life in the lower Hunter and a more tranquil place to stay on your Hunter Valley visit.

See images from the area on the Flickr Broke Page and add your own local images to this page by geotagging them (plot them on the map) when adding to Flickr.

This website is aimed at a local audience (but you're most welcome to look around) so following are some more appropriate websites for visitors looking for tourism information.

See the most comprehensive Broke Fordwich/Wollombi Valley Accommodation Directory available online along with the Restaurants and Cafés or Bars, Pubs and Clubs listings in the Wollombi Valley Business Directory and even things to do while you're here in the Events Diary.

If you're interested in the history of the Great North Road see the Convict Trail website, or for details of most of the major concert events in the Hunter Valley see the Rover Coaches website. For further information on visiting the region, see the Broke Fordwich Tourism Association website.

Enjoy your stay, and drive carefully to protect yourself, our wildlife, and your car. High speed encounters with our many wombats, kangaroos, wallabies and wallaroos are simply not negotiable, but our prolific birds, turtles, possums, snakes and lizards along with our extremely rare koalas and quolls are far too precious to waste as roadkill.

Having said that, foxes, rabbits are fair game :)
